Candidate for US president calls for more active humanitarian exchanges with Russia
There are far more similarities than differences between the two nations, Diane Sare said
WASHINGTON, August 23. /TASS/. Independent candidate for US President Diane Sare has called for enlivening humanitarian exchanges between Russia and the United States, noting that there are far more similarities than differences between the two nations.
"People-to-people exchanges between Americans and Russians would be most welcome. We share a great deal in common, probably much more than our differences," Sare, who announced her running for US president at the 2028 election in January, told TASS.
"Americans love the music of the great Russian composers like Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Rimsky-Korsakov and the Bolshoi Ballet," she noted, adding that as a founder of the Schiller Institute NYC Chorus in New York City, she had "hoped that in 2024 we could partner with a Russian chorus and orchestra to commemorate together the 200th anniversary of the premiere of Beethoven's amazing Messe Solemnis in St. Petersburg." "But for obvious reasons, that was not possible," she admitted.
