MELITOPOL, August 13. /TASS/. Roads around Energodar, a satellite city of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), are inspected daily by specialists for mines planted remotely by Ukrainian armed forces’ drones, ZNPP Communications Director Yevgenia Yashina told TASS.

If mines are detected, they are defused as quickly as possible, she noted.

"The roads in the vicinity of Energodar are inspected daily by special services. When explosive devices are detected, specialists take the necessary measures and try to carry out mine clearance as quickly as possible," she said.

In recent months, the Ukrainian armed forces have periodically attempted to remotely lay mines on access roads around Energodar using drones, with the aim of hindering the delivery of goods and the movement of city residents, including ZNPP personnel. On August 3, four Zaporozhye NPP employees were injured when a mine – dropped by an UAV operated by the Ukrainian armed forces – exploded on a road in Energodar. On August 11, the Energodar City Administration urged residents to avoid traveling in the area around the Primernoye settlement due to road mining by the enemy.
