Three attempts by Ukrainian saboteurs to infiltrate Russia foiled in 2026 — FSB chief

Alexander Bortnikov noted that the Ukrainian intelligence agencies were stepping up efforts to recruit attackers among Russian citizens

MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. Ukrainian intelligence agencies are intensifying efforts to infiltrate agents into Russia and recruit Russian nationals to carry out attacks inside the country, Alexander Bortnikov, director of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and chairman of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC), said.

"In order to carry out their terrorist plots, Ukrainian intelligence agencies are stepping up efforts to recruit attackers among Russian citizens and send sabotage groups into the country. Since the beginning of the year, law enforcement agencies have foiled three attempts by saboteurs to infiltrate our country," he said at a committee meeting.

According to the NAC information center, the committee meeting focused on measures to protect transport, fuel, energy and nuclear facilities, as well as priorities for enhancing their security in a rapidly changing environment.
