Russian to stand trial for passing intel about killed soldiers to Kiev's secret services
Authorities say the man's illicit activities commenced in October 2024
YAROSLAVL, August 7. /TASS/. A resident of the Yaroslavl Region has been charged with treason for providing information about the graves of soldiers killed during the special military operation to Ukrainian secret services. The criminal case has been forwarded to the Yaroslavl Regional Court.
According to a court statement, the 48-year-old defendant faces charges under Article 275 of the Criminal Code. Authorities say that his illicit activities commenced in October 2024. The individual visited a local memorial cemetery regularly, secretly photographing and filming the burial sites of military personnel. He then forwarded this information to Ukrainian intelligence agencies through instant messaging platforms.
The court has announced that the proceedings will be conducted behind closed doors.
