MOSCOW, August 6. /TASS/. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has declared the activities of the United States-based Human Rights Foundation, established in 2005, to be undesirable.

"The foundation’s officially stated objectives include the global promotion and reinforcement of rights and freedoms, as well as providing assistance to victims of political repression. It places particular emphasis on states with regimes it considers authoritarian," the Prosecutor General’s Office explained.

The organization is responsible for the Tyranny Tracker project, an interactive map assessing the degree of adherence to democratic values by various states. According to its creators, Russia has been classified as a "fully authoritarian regime."

The Prosecutor General’s Office further criticized the foundation, stating, "To justify its claims, the foundation expends resources on disseminating discrediting information about the Russian Armed Forces and supports organizations that have already been designated as undesirable within our country."

Additionally, the Human Rights Foundation is involved in formulating recommendations for the US administration regarding sanctions against Russian citizens. It also seeks to monitor financial flows from Russia with the aim of further freezing Russian assets abroad.
