Detainee in Crimea admits planning attack on senior police officer — Russia’s FSB
The man explained that he had agreed to work for Kiev in exchange for money
MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. A Russian detainee in Crimea confessed to plotting an attack on a senior law enforcement officer in a video released by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
"In 2025, I was recruited by Ukrainian special services under the assumed name 'Khan.' On my handler’s instructions, I was supposed to kill [the head of a law enforcement agency] by detonating an explosive device," the detained man recalled. He said he had also been tasked with sabotaging gas and power plants.
The video footage showed him being raided in front of his family. He explained that he had agreed to work for Kiev in exchange for money.
According to the FSB, the attacker was planning to flee Russia after completing his mission. A radio-controlled improvised explosive device weighing 2 kg, as well as foreign-made explosives and kits to assemble two additional improvised bombs, were confiscated from the man. The FSB’s investigative department in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol has initiated criminal proceedings against him.
