KAZAN, April 3. /TASS/. Seven people have been confirmed dead following an emergency at the Nizhnekamskneftekhim plant, according to a report on the official Telegram channel of Sibur Nizhnekamsk - Nizhnekamskneftekhim.
"Work is continuing at the Nizhnekamskneftekhim site to address the aftermath of the incident, including the dismantling of structures and a search operation. As of the evening of Friday, April 3, seven deaths have been confirmed," the statement said.
On March 31, an explosion triggered a fire at the Nizhnekamskneftekhim plant, part of the Sibur Group, in Russia’s Tatarstan Region. The incident occurred while workers were addressing a pressure loss in equipment at a synthetic rubber production facility, the company said. Earlier reports indicated three fatalities, including a fire department squad leader.
