Almost 60% of Americans oppose war with Iran, poll shows
Regarding a potential US ground operation in Iran, only 14% of participants welcomed the idea
NEW YORK, April 1. /TASS/. About 60% of Americans do not support military action against Iran, according to a YouGov poll.
The pollster reported that 59% of respondents oppose fighting in Iran, while 28% favor the operation. The remaining 13% were uncertain. The results differ depending on political affiliation. Only four percent of Democratic respondents voiced support, while the share was 62% among Republicans.
Regarding a potential US ground operation in Iran, only 14% of participants welcomed the idea, while 62% opposed it, and 24% were undecided.
The poll, involving about 1,700 adult US citizens, was conducted on March 27-30.
Earlier, Reuters published results of a poll with Ipsos, showing that two-thirds of Americans called for an early end to US strikes on Iran. In a survey conducted by NORC and the Associated Press in March, 59% of respondents believed US military action in Iran had been excessive. In an earlier CBS News poll, 57% of participants said the US operation in Iran was going "very or somewhat badly."
