MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. The Project 22350 multipurpose frigate Admiral Kasatonov has departed from the Northern Fleet’s main naval base of Severomorsk and embarked on its long-distance deployment, its press office reported on Tuesday.

"Today the Northern Fleet’s frigate Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov has departed from the town of Severomorsk and embarked on its long-distance deployment… The basic goal of its deployment is to show the flag and ensure naval presence in operationally important areas of the distant oceanic zone," the press office said in a statement.

Earlier, the frigate’s crew accomplished all the objectives in the Barents Sea in compliance with the combat training course of surface ships and vessels of the Navy, it said.

Project 22350 frigates are multipurpose combat ships carrying long-range precision weapons and capable of effectively fighting enemy naval, aerial and submerged forces and delivering strikes on ground, coastal and naval targets.
