Almost 200 civilians killed since Kiev incursion into Kursk Reg — Investigative Committee
According to the report, more than 49,000 people have been negatively affected by the fighting
MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. More than 190 civilians have died in the Kursk Region since Ukraine invaded it in August 2024, Russia’s Investigative Committee said in a statement.
"Since the illegal invasion of Ukrainian militants into the territory of the Russian Federation in August 2024, 191 civilians have been killed in the Kursk Region, 372 people have been injured, including 17 minors. Civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and partially damaged: residential buildings, schools, kindergartens and vehicles," the statement read.
It also said that more than 49,000 people have been negatively affected by the fighting. "More than 49,000 people have been recognized as affected in the criminal cases initiated, the necessary forensic examinations were appointed, and the testimony of the affected and eyewitnesses were recorded," the Investigative Committee said.
Also, the damage caused by Ukraine to the civil infrastructure and property of local residents is being established. Currently, according to the agency, hundreds of facilities in 15 settlements of the Kursk Region were examined by specialists, and the necessary forensic examinations are being conducted at the forensic expert center of the Investigative Committee.
