MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. The FSB prevented an attempt by Ukraine’s military intelligence to obtain personal data of schoolchildren from Moscow and the Moscow region by sending letters from the resources of youth military-patriotic organizations, an FSB spokesperson said.

"The FSB has stopped an operation of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense (GUR MO) of Ukraine, supervised by NATO special services, to access personal data of students from educational institutions in Moscow and the Moscow region to further recruit them," the spokesperson said.

"Instances of illegal access by Ukraine’s Defense Ministry to the information resources of the educational and methodological center for military-patriotic education of youth Avangard and the All-Russian military-patriotic public movement Yunarmiya were revealed," the spokesperson said.

"Ukraine’s special services illegally accessed electronic mailboxes and intercepted scanned copies of letters inviting them to participate in the military-patriotic dictation. After that, they altered the electronic files and carried out mass mailing to educational organizations in Moscow and the Moscow region."

The spokesperson noted that Avangard and Yunarmiya corresponded electronically to organize the III Annual All-Russian educational campaign Military-Patriotic Dictation - 2024.

"The changes introduced by Ukraine’s Defense Ministry had the main goal of collecting personal data of adolescents for their further recruitment and involvement in intelligence and subversive activities against the security of the Russian Federation, as well as committing sabotage and terrorist acts on the territory of Russia," the spokesperson noted.

Thanks to timely counterintelligence measures, the consequences of the operation were contained. Educational organizations in Moscow and the Moscow region have been informed about the provocations being prepared by the Ukrainian special services. Currently, operational search activities are continuing.
