MOSCOW, February 25. /TASS/. World-renowned Serbian film director and musician Emir Kusturica has told TASS that he expects to become a Russian citizen soon.

"It will happen and I think it will happen soon. I cannot say exactly when because we were negotiating this for a while and then stopped. But I think it will happen," he said.

Kusturica told TASS in December 2024 that he would like to become a Russian citizen, assuming it is not too difficult. He stressed that he already felt like a real Russian.
