Russia's telecom watchdog sees no grounds for unblocking X social network
Earlier, the head of the Safe Internet League, Yekaterina Mizulina, told TASS that Russia had certain grounds to lift the blocking of X
MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Russia’s telecom watchdog (Roskomnadzor) told TASS that there are no grounds for lifting the restrictions on the X social network as of today.
"There are no grounds for unblocking," the agency stated.
Earlier, the head of the Safe Internet League, Yekaterina Mizulina, told TASS that Russia had certain grounds to lift the blocking of X. According to her, the work of the network "has changed significantly," and the country "may consider lifting the current restrictive measures against X and reassessing its decision." However, she noted that this issue should be based on Roskomnadzor’s data on "the amount of content removed by the platform at the agency’s request and the amount that remains."
After that, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications Sergey Boyarsky said that there are no signs that X seeks to comply with Russia's law as of now.
X was blocked in March 2022.
