ASTRAKHAN, February 4. /TASS/. Commissioning work to restore gas flow to trunk gas pipelines at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant (AGPP) after a drone attack is expected to be completed tomorrow, Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin said on his Telegram account.

The fire at AGPP was contained, it was reported earlier, citing the press service of the governor.

"I keep an eye on AGPP restoration operations after the drone attack. Specialists are currently working on the system restart to resume gas flow to the trunk gas pipeline. They are scheduled for completion tomorrow," Babushkin said.

The air quality automatic monitoring system of the plant operates around the clock, conducting continuous measurements and analyses, he added.

Earlier reports said that the plant halted operation before the drone attack, making it possible to avoid emissions and prevent the damage to chemically hazardous facilities. No threshold limit values of pollutants were registered as exceeded.

The Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant is the largest producer of gas sulfur in Russia.
