MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated employees with the Russian Ministry of Emergencies on the Rescuer Day and noted that they are a reliable link in the national security system.

"Employees of the Ministry of Emergencies rightfully enjoy the deserved recognition and respect in our society," the head of state said in the video address.

Rescuers rush to help people in distress as soon as they receive a signal and promptly eliminate consequences of natural and man-caused emergencies, the president noted.

The Rescuer Day is celebrated in Russia annually on December 27.
