The university said that the cost of the project is estimated at 75 million rubles

ROSTOV-NA-DONU, December 20. /TASS/. The Don State Technical University (DSTU) has developed a multimodal web platform with GPT assistants capable of reducing the time it takes to diagnose diseases and improving the quality of diagnostics. The project worth 75 million rubles is planned to be implemented by 2030, the university's press service told TASS.

"In the field of medicine and veterinary medicine, the implementation of the project will improve the quality and shorten the terms of diagnosing diseases, including at early stages, and it will also reduce the time and labor costs of analyses by up to 99% ( digitizing preparations and reagents, marking cells with the help of AI, digitally selecting images based on metadata, increasing the accuracy of diagnostics). In addition, the multimodal website will allow for interdisciplinary training of the new generation of personnel (IT plus MD and veterinary medicine), improve the quality and reduce the time needed to confirm scientific hypotheses," the report says.

The university specified that the cost of the project is estimated at 75 million rubles, by 2030 will be created a website with four virtual assistants, which will be able to detect, segment, classify, count objects on images of biological samples, as well as issue a text description. "The planned cost of subscription to the web platform is about 70 thousand rubles. If it is used in 10% of medical institutions and universities, the market volume per year will be about 500 million rubles," the press service added.

The platform is being developed as part of the "One Health" project of the DSTU Development Program for 2021-2030 and the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program. The components of work with data sets and adaptation of GPT assistant are developed exclusively by the Russian group. The partners include Vizntech, Yandex, St. Petersburg Youth Initiatives Fund.

During the implementation of the project, particular emphasis will be placed on the development of artificial intelligence, which can improve the accuracy and speed of diagnosis and data analysis, and improve the quality of life of people and animals, DSTU noted.
