MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. About nine kilometers of the shoreline in the Krasnodar Region were cleaned from petroleum products over the day, the Russian Ministry of Emergencies told TASS.
"More than nine kilometers of the shoreline were cleaned today in the Krasnodar Region. From the start of work, 19.6 km of the coastal line were cleaned up, more than 1,700 contaminated sand and soil were gathered," the ministry said.
Volunteers rescued 176 birds suffered after the petroleum products spill from the wreck of two tankers in the Kerch Strait area of the Black Sea, the ministry added.
