Part of YouTube issues linked solely to Google’s position — Kremlin
Dmitry Peskov emphasized that this situation stems from Google’s refusal to follow Russian laws, despite being legally obligated to do so
MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Part of the problems with the YouTube video hosting platform in Russia are directly linked to the actions of its owner, Google, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated.
"Some of these issues are solely attributable to the position of the service’s owner. The stance of the service’s owner reflects a refusal to comply with Russian laws. By failing to adhere to these laws, the company has not updated or replaced the necessary equipment. These problems are occurring in multiple areas," the Kremlin spokesman told reporters, commenting on the slowdown of YouTube in Russia.
He emphasized that this situation stems from Google’s refusal to follow Russian laws, despite being legally obligated to do so. "President [of Russia Vladimir Putin] has said he will examine other aspects of this issue," Peskov added.
