Poll shows nearly 79% of Russians trust Putin

Approximately 50% of those polled expressed approval of how the Russian government is managing the country (a decrease of 0.2%), while 51.8% approved of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s performance (an increase of 0.2%)

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. The level of trust among the Russian public in President Vladimir Putin now stands at 78.8%, according to a survey by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM).

The poll was conducted from November 5-10 and included 1,600 respondents aged 18 and older.

"When asked directly if they trusted Putin, 78.8% of participants responded affirmatively (a decrease of 0.6%), while the approval rating for the president's job performance was 76.3% (a decrease of 0.2%)," the report from the social service reads.

Approximately 50% of those polled expressed approval of how the Russian government is managing the country (a decrease of 0.2%), while 51.8% approved of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s performance (an increase of 0.2%). The percentage of respondents who said they trust Mishustin was 60.3% (a decrease of 0.5%).

Regarding the leaders of parties represented in parliament, 31.1% of those surveyed trust Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) leader Gennady Zyuganov (an increase of 0.4%), 26.9% trust A Just Russia-For Truth party leader Sergey Mironov (a decrease of 0.6%), 21.9% trust Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) head Leonid Slutsky (an increase of 1.9%), and 8.9% trust New People party chairman Alexey Nechayev (no change).

The level of popular support for the ruling United Russia party stood at 36.5% (a decrease of 1.7%). Support for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) increased by 0.2% to 9.9%, while backing for the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) rose by 0.7% to 10.1%. Support for A Just Russia-For Truth party decreased by 0.6% to 3.6%, while backing for the New People party decreased by 0.1% to 6%.
