Kursk Region needs over 7 billion dollars to rebuild after Ukrainian invasion — governor

KURSK, November 11. /TASS/. The total cost of reconstruction of the territories of the Kursk Region affected by the Ukrainian invasion will exceed 700 billion rubles (over seven billion dollars), Governor Alexey Smirnov said at an operational meeting.
"We need 118 billion rubles (almost 1.2 billion dollars - TASS) [to restore areas] where there were hostilities, or there was intensive work of artillery, drones. The total cost of restoring the Kursk Region is more than 700 billion rubles (over seven billion dollars)," he said.
Smirnov emphasized that the damage of enterprises, agricultural and industrial complex, social institutions, and other facilities is taken into account.
Earlier, the regional head said that more than 100 billion rubles (over one billion dollars) would be needed to rebuild homes damaged by a massive Ukrainian attack, as well as pay compensation for lost housing.
