Hainan steps up recruitment of skilled worker from abroad
Those who want to be considered should send in their applications by 15 October, according to the requirements of the Hainan Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security
HAIKOU /China/, October 1. /TASS/. The authorities of the southern Chinese province of Hainan are planning to step up the recruitment of qualified foreign specialists for in-demand positions, Hainan Daily reported.
According to the newspaper, those interested in filling the positions should submit their applications in accordance with the requirements of the Hainan Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security by 15 October. If a worker is successfully hired, the government will provide a subsidy of 200 to 500 thousand yuan (about 28.5 to 71.3 thousand dollars at the current exchange rate).
This program is said to be in line with the official 2024 foreign recruitment plan. There are specific requirements for recruitment under this program. In particular, the recommended age of the invitee is not more than 40 years old. He or she must work in Hainan no later than 1 September 2023, sign an employment contract for more than 3 years, or agree with the recruiting organisation on full-time employment for one year.
In addition, the applicant must hold an officially recognised PhD degree from a higher education institution listed in the top 300 foreign institutions. Or the applicant must have a Master's degree and more than 36 months of work experience in a reputable foreign university, research institute, medical, high-tech or financial organisation. Master's degree holders with an R (foreigner qualified) visa are also eligible for recruitment.
The requirements in terms of education, age and experience may be relaxed for particularly valuable and rare professionals. For this purpose, they must have a letter of recommendation from the competent structures at provincial level.
