VIENNA, April 12. /TASS/. The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant was reconnected to its remaining 330kV backup power supply line after being forced to rely solely on its main line for a few days, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said.

"The ZNPP separately informed the IAEA team that the plant - throughout the past week - once again had access to its only remaining back-up power line, which was lost in early April," the statement says.

The ZNPP was disconnected from the backup line and had to fully rely on the main 750kV line on April 4. The cause of the disruption is unknown, but it followed reports of military activity in the region and beyond.

The power plant was completely cut off from external power supply sources eight times since August 2022, with the latest such incident reported in December 2023. Earlier this year, the auxiliary 330kV line was also disconnected for the period of three weeks, but the main 750 kV line remained operational during this period.
