Russian journalists come under Ukrainian fire in Lugansk People’s Republic
The Ukrainian military tried to use a drone to finish off the journalists, Artyom Yundas said
LUGANSK, April 10. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces fired three artillery shells at a reporting crew of the Lugansk branch of Russia’s VGTRK broadcaster, the Vesti Lugansk news program said on Telegram.
Correspondent Artyom Yundas suffered a concussion, while cameraman Denis Shum sustained an injury to his leg. The Ukrainian military tried to use a drone to finish off the journalists, Yundas said in a video on Telegram.
Yundas and Shum were taken to the hospital in the city of Lugansk; both are said to be in stable condition.
The head of the VGTRK branch in Lugansk told the Rossiya-24 TV channel that the attack had taken place in the Kremennaya area, which is currently one of the most dangerous areas of the line of engagement in the special military operation zone.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry will spread information about the Ukrainian attack on the TV crew on all platforms where Moscow is represented, Rodion Miroshnik, the ministry’s ambassador-at-large in charge of overseeing the Kiev regime’s crimes, told TASS. "This is another criminal act committed by Ukrainian barbarians who not just ignore international humanitarian law but deliberately violate it," he noted. "We have to point out that Ukrainian militants are on a hunt for journalists and TV crews," Miroshnik added.
