Putin extends greetings to Russia’s Muslims on Eid al-Fitr holiday
In his message, the President stressed that Muslims of Russia carefully preserve the richest historical, cultural and religious traditions of the ancestors
MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Muslim organizations make a major contribution to improving social cohesion and interethnic harmony in Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a message of greetings on Eid al-Fitr.
"Muslim organizations make a creative contribution to the life in the country, and the implementation of popular patriotic, educational and charitable initiatives as they maintain fruitful cooperation with government and public agencies and pay priority attention to the education of the younger generation. They support participants in and veterans of the special military operation, as well as their families and friends. They contribute much to strengthening the cohesion of our people and preserving interethnic harmony," the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia quoted Putin as saying on its Telegram channel.
In his message, Putin also stressed that Muslims of Russia carefully preserve the richest historical, cultural and religious traditions of the ancestors.
Eid al-Fitr, a holiday celebrated since the 7th century, marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and breaking of the fast.
