Poll shows dramatic shift in Polish attitudes toward Ukrainian refugees
The figures reveal a huge drop in the percentage of Poles supporting taking in Ukrainian refugees over the past two years
MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. The percentage of Polish residents who favor taking in Ukrainian refugees has dropped by 33% compared to March 2022, according to the results of a poll by the Center for Public Opinion Research (CBOS), as cited by Interia.pl.
According to the poll, 61% of respondents answered in the affirmative with varying degrees of certainty when asked whether Poland should accept refugees from Ukraine. Some 31% of the survey participants were against this proposition. The figures show a huge drop in the percentage of Poles supporting taking in Ukrainian refugees over the past two years: in March 2022 94% of the population said they would welcome Ukrainians.
The survey was conducted from March 7 to 17 by several methods and involved 1,089 adult Polish residents.
