Over 6,000 children from shelled borderline Belgorod evacuated to safer Russian regions

BELGOROD, April 1. /TASS/. More than 6,000 children from districts subjected to Ukrainian shelling attacks in the borderline Belgorod Region have been taken to safety in other Russian regions, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.
"We continue to send our children to other regions. Currently, over 6,000 kids are already in almost 30 regions of the Russian Federation," he wrote.
According to his information, over the past weekend, the cities of Samara, Saransk, Nizhny Novgorod, Tambov and the Yamalo-Nenets, Khanty-Mansi and Stavropol regions have taken in children from the Belgorod Region.
Gladkov noted that, on March 31, he received 19 appeals from parents and contacted local governors over each of them. He said that a call center will be set up for the convenience of worried parents. "We realize the level of our responsibility and will do everything for the children to be comfortable and safe. We are setting up a call center and will try to pass on information to the concerned parents as quickly as possible. Yet, overall, I see that our children’s recreation and classes are already starting, everything is organized at a very good level," he added.
