MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. The Telegram messenger has deleted over 256,000 prohibited materials since 2021 to date at requests of the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media, the regulator told TASS.

"The Telegram administration deleted over 256,000 prohibited materials at requests of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media since 2021," the watchdog informed.

At the same time, Telegram was repeatedly called to administrative liability for failures to delete unlawful information, the regulator noted. "Nineteen protocols were drawn up in respect of the company, fines were imposed totaling 68 mln rubles ($738,700)," the watchdog added.
