Russian prosecutors to study Duma’s message on foreign financing of terrorism
The memorandums and evidence will be carefully studied, after which the issue of using mechanisms of international legal cooperation will be considered, the PGO’s press service said
MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. The Russian Prosecutor- General's Office will study factsheets received from State Duma members about the organization and financing of a number of terrorist attacks in Russia, as well as the explosions of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, committed by persons and organizations based in the United States, Germany, France and Cyprus.
"The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia has received a message from members of the State Duma and public figures requesting a probe into the organization and financing of a number of terrorist acts in Russia, as well as an act of international terrorism - the undermining of the gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 - and the traces leading to persons and organizations in the United States, Germany, France and Cyprus," the PGO said.
The memorandums and evidence will be carefully studied, after which the issue of using mechanisms of international legal cooperation will be considered, the PGO’s press service said.
"The Investigative Committee will consider in accordance with the procedure established by law the appeal of the State Duma members and public figures concerning the need to investigate the organization, financing and carrying out of terrorist acts by the United States and other Western countries directed against Russia," the news release reads.
The Duma members sent a statement to the prosecutor general's offices of five countries (Russia, Germany, Cyprus, the United States and France), as well as to the Investigative Committee of Russia calling for the immediate investigation and prevention of financing of acts of international terrorism. In its annex, the legislators provided direct evidence concerning the masterminds, organizers, perpetrators, and those covering up and financing these crimes. They believe that the United States and its allies carry out terrorist attacks in Russia with the hands of the terrorist group Islamic State (banned in Russia) and Ukrainian secret services. They demanded bringing to justice the political leadership of the United States and Ukraine, as well as the special services of these countries for organizing, financing, conducting terrorist operations against Russia and the entire modern world. Earlier, Russia’s Investigative Committee said that it would consider this appeal.
