Russian population stands at 146.15 mln as of January 1 — statistics

The Russian Federal Statistics Service has updated the estimate of the resident population of Russia as of January 1, 2024
MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) has updated the estimate of the resident population of Russia as of January 1, 2024.
It amounted to 146.15 mln people, compared to 146.44 mln as of January 1, 2023, and 146.29 mln in 2023 in average, Rosstat said on its website.
The population as of January 1, 2024 totaled 40.1 mln people in the Central Federal District, 13.8 mln in the Northwestern Federal District, 16.6 mln in the Southern Federal District, 10.2 mln in the North Caucasus Federal District, 28.5 mln in the Volga Federal District, 12.2 mln people in the Ural Federal District, and 16.5 mln and 7.8 mln in Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts respectively.
