Man plotting terror act on military contingent detained in Yekaterinburg
A criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated under part 1 of article 30, paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code (preparation of a terrorist act)
YEKATERINBURG, March 21. /TASS/. Military counterintelligence agencies and the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) have detained a man who was plotting a terrorist attack on a contingent in Yekaterinburg, the Sverdlovsk Region, using five homemade incendiary devices which were found in his possession, the FSB press service told TASS.
"As a result of a joint special operation of the military counterintelligence bodies and the Russian FSB in the Sverdlovsk Region, a functionary of the extremist organization ‘The Union of Slavic Forces of Russia’ was detained while preparing to commit a terrorist act against a military unit in Yekaterinburg. Five homemade incendiary devices were found and seized from him," the agency’s source said.
A criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated under part 1 of article 30, paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code (preparation of a terrorist act). A measure of restraint in the form of remand in custody has been chosen for the detainee.
