President of Association of Russian Banks Georgy Luntovsky dies at age of 73

He was deputy governor of the Bank of Russia from 1999 to 2005 and first deputy governor from 2005 to 2017
MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. President of the Association of Russian Banks (ARB) Georgy Luntovsky has died at the age on 73, Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the ARB board and chairman of the financial market committee of the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament), told TASS.
"I extend my sincere condolences of his family and friends. Georgy Ivanovich was an outstanding man. He did much for the development of the country’s banking system," he said.
Luntovsky was deputy governor of the Bank of Russia from 1999 to 2005 and first deputy governor from 2005 to 2017. Since 2017, he has been President of the Association of Russian Banks.
