MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. The Russian financial watchdog Rosfinmonitoring has designated chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia) as a terrorist and an extremist.
In December 2023, the Russian Interior Ministry said that Kasparov held an auction to raise funds for Russian and Belarusian citizens fighting on the side of Ukraine. He could face up to five years in prison.
