Fishermen find alleged spy balloon off Alaska’s coast — media
According to CNN, FBI agents will meet the fishing vessel when it comes into port sometime over the weekend
NEW YORK, March 2. /TASS/. Fishermen off the coast of Alaska have found what is believed to be a spy balloon, CNN reported, citing sources.
According to the sources, US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents will meet the fishing vessel when it comes into port sometime over the weekend.
In early February 2023, the US authorities identified a Chinese balloon at an altitude exceeding the norm for commercial flights. It was said to pose no threat to people on the ground. Later, the US Air Force downed what the Pentagon said was a spy balloon collecting vital information in US airspace. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed his visit to China over the incident. The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a protest against Washington’s allegations. According to Beijing, it was a weather balloon that entered US airspace by accident.
