Panda family returns home to China from Spain

According to Xinhua news agency, under a Chinese-Spanish agreement, another pair of young pandas will be sent to Madrid in order to strengthen friendship between the two nations
BEIJING, March 2. /TASS/. Three panda bears born in Spain have arrived in the southeastern Chinese city of Chengdu together with their parents, the Xinhua news agency reported.
The panda family was sent to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to undergo quarantine procedures.
The panda parents came to live at the Madrid zoo in September 2007. Their first female cub was born in August 2016, and male twins were born in September 2021.
Giant panda cubs born overseas usually return to China to avoid inbreeding. Under a Chinese-Spanish agreement, another pair of young pandas will be sent to Madrid in order to strengthen friendship between the two nations.
