FSB detains Ukrainian spy in Zaporozhye Region
Documented evidence exposing the Ukrainian spy was found
MELITOPOL, March 1. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a Ukrainian citizen in the Zaporozhye Region for collecting data on the locations of the Russian military units and passing it to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
In the Zaporozhye Region, Russian security officers "suppressed the activities of a citizen of Ukraine," who was spying for Ukraine. Russia’s FSB detained a citizen of Ukraine, recruited by the Security Service of Ukraine. On instructions from the SBU the man was collecting and passing to his handler "information about the locations and movements Russian army units for further missile and bombing strikes on them," the news release reads.
Documented evidence exposing the Ukrainian spy was found.
"Ukrainian special services sent a small sum in cash and asked me to help the Ukrainian army," the detainee said while being questioned. The video was released by the regional FSB office.
Criminal proceedings have been launched on spying charges. The offense is punishable with a prison term of up to 20 years.
