MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. The Russian Interior Ministry has again put Oleg Navalny on the wanted list in connection with new criminal charges against him.
"Oleg Anatolyevich Navalny. Wanted under an article of the Criminal Code," the ministry’s database said without specifying what article Alexey Navalny’s brother was wanted under.
Law enforcement agencies told TASS that new charges had been filed against Oleg Navalny, without giving any details.
Moscow's Preobrazhensky Court gave Oleg Navalny a one-year suspended sentence in 2021. According to the prosecution, he tried via social media to organize an unauthorized rally in January 2021 that violated coronavirus restrictions. The Federal Penitentiary Service asked the court to replace his suspended sentence with a real one, citing Navalny’s refusal to comply with the restrictions imposed by the court ruling. He was put on the wanted list in January 2022 after the penitentiary service reported that Navalny was not checking in with probation officers after the sentence.
