MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. A resident of Los Angeles, California, who holds both Russian and US citizenship, has been arrested in Yekaterinburg on charges of treason for raising funds for the Ukrainian military, the press office of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) told TASS.
"The Federal Security Service in Yekaterinburg has interdicted the illegal activities of a 33-year-old resident of Los Angeles, who has dual citizenship of Russia and the United States, involved in providing financial assistance to a foreign state [Ukraine], thus conducting activities against the security of our country," the press office said.
According to the FSB, "since February 2022, she has been proactively collecting funds in the interests of a Ukrainian organization, which were subsequently directed by the Ukrainian armed forces toward the acquisition of tactical medical items, equipment and ammunition." In addition, she repeatedly took part in public actions in the United States in support of the Kiev regime.
On the basis of the available facts, criminal charges have been filed against the detainee under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code ("High Treason"). The court ruled to detain the accused, the FSB press office reported. Operational search and investigative actions are ongoing.
