ROME, January 2. /TASS/. Italy’s oldest man Tripoli Giannini has died at 111, the La Stampa newspaper reported, citing authorities in Tuscany’s Province of Livorno.
Giannini passed away among his family at his home in the Cecina community on December 31.
Giannini, who belonged to the Italian army's Bersaglieri infantry corps, was born in Cecina on August 20, 1912. He witnessed numerous historical events, including two world wars and the election of a dozen of popes, living under a monarchy and a republic, the newspaper noted.
