Residents lay flowers, toys at school in Russia’s Bryansk after shooting incident
As a result of the incident, two people died, one of them was the shooter, and five others were injured
BRYANSK, December 7. /TASS/. Residents of Russia’s Bryansk, to the southwest of Moscow, are bringing flowers and toys to Gymnasium No. 5, where a shooting occurred on Thursday, resulting in two deaths and five injuries, a TASS correspondent reports.
The territory of the gymnasium is still cordoned off by police officers. People come to the gate and put toys and flowers. As reported by a TASS correspondent, more than 10 people came to pay tribute to the dead during the day.
On Thursday, an eighth-grader brought a pump-action shotgun to Gymnasium No. 5, and fired shots at her classmates. As a result of the incident, two people died, one of them was the shooter, and five others were injured.
On behalf of Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, a special flight with a medical module arrived in Bryansk to take two children to Moscow for further treatment. As previously reported by regional Governor Alexander Bogomaz on his Telegram channel, their condition is assessed by doctors as stably heavy.
Three injured students are in good condition. In addition to providing medical care, specialists from the Center of Emergency Psychological Aid (CEPA) of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the Serbsky State Scientific Center for Social and Forensic Psychiatry of the Russian Health Ministry are providing psychological support to the children and their families.
