Two children wounded in Bryansk shooting to be flown to Moscow for treatment — governor
The operation to move the children will be carried out under the supervision of professionals from the Russian Health Ministry
MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. Two children, who are in serious but stable condition after Thursday’s school shooting in the western Russian city of Bryansk, will be flown to Moscow for further treatment, the region’s Governor Alexander Bogomaz wrote on Telegram.
"On instructions from Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, a special plane with a medical module arrived in Bryansk. A decision was made to take two children to Moscow for further treatment. Doctors say their condition is serious but stable," the statement says.
The operation to move the children will be carried out under the supervision of professionals from the Russian Health Ministry. The wounded will be taken to the Russian Children’s Clinical Hospital.
The governor added that two more children are in satisfactory condition.
Bogomaz visited the Bryansk Children’s Clinical Hospital on Thursday night and met with doctors and family members of the victims.
On Thursday morning, an eighth-grader brought a weapon to her school in Bryansk and opened fire. As a result, five people were injured, one of whom has died. The shooter committed suicide, turning the gun on herself, police said.
A conflict between the shooter and her classmates is considered to be the most likely cause of the shooting, law enforcement agencies told TASS. A criminal investigation has been launched.
