Nearly one in ten Russians to spend New Year's Eve at the office, poll shows
In addition, 3% of respondents say they plan to usher in the New Year in other Russian cities
MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. The majority of Russians plan to celebrate the New Year at home this year, while 9% will spend their holiday evening toiling away at work, according to the results of a survey by the Superjob service available to TASS.
"Same as last year, 77% of Russians plan to celebrate the New Year at home. As many as 9% of Russians will work on New Year's Eve. Men are more likely to celebrate the New Year at their workplace than women (15% vs. 3%, respectively). Compared to last year, more Russians will work the night of December 31-January 1: 9% vs. 6% a year ago," the survey results say.
In addition, 3% of respondents say they plan to usher in the New Year in other Russian cities, and 2% of respondents plan to celebrate it while visiting someone. Another 2% of Russians plan to celebrate New Year outside the city, in the countryside. And still 2% more plan to celebrate the New Year at street festivals, abroad or at a tourist resort.
The survey was conducted on November 24-28 in all districts of Russia. A total of 1,600 respondents from the economically active population older than 18 y.o. participated in it.
