Ukraine completes mandatory evacuation of children from Kupyansk district

MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Authorities in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region have completed the mandatory evacuation of nearly 300 children from the Kupyansk district, the local police department said on Monday.
"Law enforcement officers and volunteers have finished evacuating children from the Kupyansk district," it wrote on its Telegram channel. "Thirty-one children were evacuated from the territory of the Kondreshevskaya community, 182 - from the Kupyansk community (left bank), and 83 - from the Kurilovskaya community."
Ukraine’s ministry of reintegration said in early October that as many as 856 children had been evacuated from the Kharkov Region and Kiev-controlled parts of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Kherson Region since April.
The Ukrainian authorities are evacuating people from Kiev-controlled territories, citing the security situation. However, according to head of the Kharkov Region’s military-civilian administration Vitaly Ganchev, people often don’t want to leave their homes, but the evacuation campaign is linked with preparations for defense. The refusal to evacuate, in his words, may be fraught with serious problems.
