RAFAH /Egypt/, November 19. /TASS/. Egypt is ready to receive the first group of children from Al-Shifa Hospital, which is besieged by Israeli troops, an official of the Egyptian press center at the Rafah border crossing told TASS on Sunday.

According to the official, children were transferred to a hospital in Palestinian enclave near the checkpoint earlier in the day. The Egyptian side hopes that "as soon as their health condition allows, the children will be evacuated" to Egypt for further treatment.

Earlier, fourteen ambulance cars crossed the checkpoint to return back empty after some time.
