According to Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia Valery Falkov, "now it is important to quickly move forward, not to stop at what has been achieved and to plan work for several years ahead"

MOSCOW, November 15. /The universities of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Lugansk People’s Republic’s (LPR), the Zaporozhye and the Kherson Regions have fully switched to Russian educational standards, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov, announced.

"The first large-scale admission campaign in the universities of the new regions was held in completely different conditions. According to the number of admissions and the feedback we received, we can say that this stage of integration has been successfully completed. In general, the universities' transition to the new educational standards has been successful. Now it is important to quickly move forward, not to stop at what has been achieved and to plan work for several years ahead," the press service of the Ministry quoted him as saying.

The minister told journalists during his visit to Rostov-on-Don that strengthening the material and the technical base is the primary task of the first stage of integrating the new regions' universities into Russia's the scientific and educational system. A lot has been done in this area. This includes restoring destroyed educational buildings and creating research laboratories.

"This year we take special note of the seven teaching and laboratory buildings made for two universities - in Mariupol State University named after Arkhip Kuindzhi and Priazovsky State Technical University. The second big step is to equip research laboratories, 43 new laboratories will be created and equipped accordingly in 18 universities by the end of the year, qualified teachers will undergo advanced training. In our opinion, this should have a qualitative impact for the better, make education itself more interesting and improve the quality of education, especially engineering and technical education," Falkov said.

The head of the Ministry of Education and Science took part in the ceremony of handing over 11 Higer KLQ 6928Q buses seating 35 people each to the universities of DPR and LPR, Zaporozhye and the Kherson Regions. "Throughout the year we had many requests from universities to help with buses, because now the density of movement is completely different, universities travel, communicate, students <...> always want what today is called mobility, communicate and participate in the life of not only their university, but it is various kinds and sports events, and artistic creativity, and just participation in various kinds of events that are held at other venues. For this purpose, we need reliable transportation. Today we are handing over 11 new buses to our colleagues in order to make education at universities more comfortable," Falkov said during the ceremony held on the territory of Don State University.

The handover of the vehicles to universities in Russia's new territories is implemented within the framework of the program of socio-economic development of DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and the Kherson Regions. The transport will be used to provide transfers for the needs of universities, in particular, during various events.
