70 Russians evacuated from Gaza Strip – emergencies ministry
They crossed the Rafah checkpoint, the Russian department reported
MOSCOW, November 12. /TASS/. Seventy Russians have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip, the Russian emergencies ministry told TASS on Sunday.
"Seventy Russian nationals have crossed the border via the Rafah checkpoint," it said.
According to earlier reports, sixty Russians were evacuated from Gaza and are already in Egypt.
The Russian emergencies ministry said earlier that the evacuation of Russians from the Gaza Strip has begun. The ministry’s specialists offer them medical and psychological assistance, provide with meals and drinking water. The evacuated people will be taken to Cairo, where Russian officials will help them with documents.
Two emergencies ministry’s Il-76 planes that will take the Russian citizens home have been waiting in Cairo since November 5.
