Performance art activist arrested in absentia for spreading fake news about Russian army
A court official said that the defendant had been designated as internationally wanted
MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Moscow’s Basmanny District Court has authorized the arrest in absentia of Lyudmila (Lusya) Shtein, a member of the Pussy Riot performance art group, on charges of spreading false information about the Russian armed forces.
A court official told TASS that the defendant had been designated as internationally wanted.
"Moscow’s Basmanny District Court ruled that Lyudmila Shtein, charged under paragraph (d) of Article 207.3.2. of the Russian Criminal Code (‘Public Dissemination of Deliberately False Information About the Use of the Russian Armed Forces’), should be taken into custody for two months. The term of her arrest shall commence from the date of her extradition to Russia or her detention in Russia. She has been designated as internationally wanted," the official said.
