Dozens of flights canceled at Makhachkala airport on Monday

MAKHACHKALA, October 30. /TASS/. Dozens of flights were canceled at Makhachkala airport on Monday after the air harbor was closed due to riots the day before.
According to the airport time-table, 10 flights that were supposed to depart from Makhachkala and 10 flights that were supposed to arrive at the airport were canceled including flights to and from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Sochi, Surgut, St. Petersburg, Perm and Istanbul.
Flights of Pobeda, Azimut, Ikar, Red Wings, Smartavia airlines have been cancelled.
According to the airport’s website, a flight departing to Yekaterinburg has been delayed.

Several hundred people entered the airport building and onto the airfield, and were later forced out by law enforcement officers. According to the latest data, more than 20 people were injured, including police officers, and 60 rioters were detained. Dagestani authorities and religious leaders condemned the incident, linking it with a provocation.
The airport is closed for arrivals and departures until October 31.
