Russian border guards confiscate 740 kg of caviar in Khabarovsk Region
According to a preliminary assessment, the damage inflicted to aquatic bioresources is over 340 mln rubles ($3.6 mln)
MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Border guards of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) have withdrawn over 740 kg of caviar and about 11 metric tons of sturgeons from the illegal turnover, the FSB Center of Public Relations told TASS.
"The border guard department of the FSB of Russia for the Khabarovsk Region and the Jewish Autonomous Region suppressed activities of persons involved in the illegal turnover of particularly valuable aquatic biological resources registered in the Russian Red Book. 741 kg of sturgeon roe and about eleven metric tons of sturgeon species without documents evidencing legality of their origin were confiscated in cities of Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur in a motor vehicle and in a storage facility used by participants in the illegal activity," the Center said.
