Telegram, Google face fines up to $43,000 for failure to delete banned information — court
Telegram, Google and Akamai Technologies are charged with Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to take measures to remove information prohibited in the Russian Federation)
MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. The Tagansky Court in Moscow will consider new protocols against Google, Telegram, as well as the American IT company Akamai Technologies for refusing to delete information banned in Russia, the court’s press service told TASS.
"The review of administrative documents in relation to the companies Akamai Technologies and Telegram Messenger Inc. is scheduled for November 21, in relation to Google LLC - for November 14," press secretary Zulfiya Gurynchuk said.
Telegram, Google and Akamai Technologies are charged with Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to take measures to remove information prohibited in the Russian Federation). Companies face a fine of up to 4 million rubles ($43,000).
