Guitarist of British trip-hop pioneers Massive Attack dies at 62
Angelo Bruschini performed live and contributed to the band’s albums for more than 25 years
LONDON, October 24. /TASS/. Angelo Bruschini, guitarist of the British trip-hop act Massive Attack, died at the age of 62 from lung cancer on Monday, the band’s other members announced on Tuesday.
"A singularly brilliant & eccentric talent. Impossible to quantify your contribution to the Massive Attack canon. How lucky we were to share such a life together," the band wrote on its page on X (formerly Twitter).
Bruschini joined the band a few years after it was founded in Bristol, England, in 1988. He performed live and contributed to its albums for more than 25 years. In July, he publicly announced that he had terminal lung cancer.
The Bristol band are pioneers of trip-hop and, as a number of British music critics claim, defined the sound of the 1990s in the United Kingdom. Among the most famous and popular compositions by Massive Attack are Unfinished Sympathy, Angel and Teardrop, which became the main musical theme of the TV series "Dr. House."
